A List of My Top Listens for Lockdown 3.0
Lockdown 3.0 is well underway and, let's face it, the novelty wore off a long time ago. Some of us have exhausted our usual playlists, running routes and audiobooks. Therefore, I thought I'd share our top listens and podcasts for lockdown. To refresh your playlist so that you can tackle this winter with the same gusto as the summer lockdown.
PODCAST
AMY LANE - WELL FAR: SPORTS BRAS AND BOOBS
Amy Lane, Digital Editor of Women's Health Magazine, has a wonderful podcast on all things running, no matter your level.
In February 2020, I was invited onto her Amy's podcast to talk about all things sport bras.
Length: 33min, perfect escapism on a 5k jog or an at-home workout session.
AUDIOBOOK
CAROLINE CRIADO PEREZ - INVISIBLE WOMEN
I read this book over the summer and couldn't put it down!
It brought things to my attention which I had never noticed (which I can't now un-notice), made me angry about how badly things have been designed for women. Ahem, ring a bell anyone? It struck up so much conversation with people around me. I highly recommend this book!
Length: 9hrs 24min, with each chapter dedicated to a specific topic, it's a good one to dip in and out of without losing track.
AUDIOBOOK
BELLA MACKIE - JOG ON
Want to start running but worried you're not a runner? I used to go out running and get despondent that my time was never as good as 'everyone else's'. However, my eyes have been opened to the fact that there are other reasons to run, to help your mental health. A reason more important now than ever.
Bella gives us great insight into how she got started and how it helped her.
Length: 6hrs 34min, a great reminder of the benefits of running, while running.

Like the idea of a lockdown challenge? Always wanted to be able to do a handstand? A 5-minute plank? Become more flexible?
The structure and timeline of a challenge can give us the motivation and feeling of accomplishment we need in a time like this.

I'd been told I was a 36C for fifteen years. Booked a Zoom fitting on a Tuesday lunch break, walked away a 32E. First time a sports bra hasn't hurt my shoulders.
